From gym-goers, to runners, cyclists, swimmers, football players, endurance nuts this caramel chocolate coconut protein smoothie recipe is just for you!
Ingredients (serves 2)
1 cup of ice cubes
4-5 scoops chocolate protein powder
2 tsp espresso
400ml almond milk or cows milk
1tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Caramel sauce (optional)
3 tbsp coconut milk
3 tbsp coconut sugar
1tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp water
½ tsp lemon juice
Add all the ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth
Add ice to achieve the right consistency
Mix coconut sugar, lemon juice, and water in a medium pan over a medium heat and bring to a boil
Immediately add the coconut milk (pour slowly), and vanilla. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the liquid becomes dark and thick. Be sure to stir occasionally and scrape the edges of the pot with a rubber spatula to avoid burning.
Remove from heat once it’s thick and cool it down to room temperature
For best results, store in a jar in the refrigerator overnight.
